Welche Falcon Version?

  • Ich hab das in einem anderen Forum gefunden und finde das eigentlich recht passend - wen nman den unterschied wissen möchte - was was ist:

    Open Falcon

    * Not user friendly, and steep learning curve
    * Hardest F4 version to install (lots of steps)
    * Most realistic F4 version for the F-16 (F4 is an F-16 sim after all), because it has the most realistic avionics suite for F-16 in comparison to other F4 versions
    * Hardest on your PC (FPS)
    * You actually use the radios in the jet to communicate to other human pilots (IVC)
    * You can set up your own Data Cartridge and use realistic features of Data Link (Improved Data Modem). Also has the SNIPER advanced targeting pod which can be used for A-G and as an A-A FLIR (WHOT/BHOT/TV)
    * Worst Campaign and Mission Builder of all F4 versions
    * Good graphics. Better then AF, comparable with FF5
    * Very stable multiplayer if configured correctly. Easy to set up a MP flight because of the Rapace Launcher tool.
    * Only version that comes with the great Aegean Theater
    * For the time being development is cosmetic improvements only by the community at Global Falcon. The original OF dev team is no longer, and we can't edit the exe to make significant changes atm. But don't count out OF yet .

    Allied Force

    * Most user friendly (great manual too), less steep learning curve then OF/FF
    * Easiest to install
    * Dynamic Weather (something OF/FF/RV don't have)
    * Easiest on your PC
    * Best Campaign and Mission Builder of all F4 versions
    * Limited options to configure/customize your install compared to OF/FF (which means less custom mods by the community)
    * No cockpits for other aircraft, and no 6DOF or 'clickable' 3D cockpits
    * Worst Graphics
    * Rock solid multiplayer, and easiest to set up a MP flight
    * Limited weapons (no JDAMs, JSOWs, etc...), and some weapons systems are simplified (ie HARMs, LGBs, and threat circles)
    * Development has been finished for a long time. Nothing new will come out for AF. And Lead Pursuit doesn't offer any support. Only support available is here at frugals forum in the AF section.

    Free Falcon 5

    * Newest release from the F4 community. But like all new F4 releases, it has some issues that need to be worked out and thus has lots of bugs/CTDs/freezes in its current state.
    * Not as user friendly as AF for new pilots
    * Easier to install then OF (don't need original Falcon 4.0 CD), but harder to install and set up then AF.
    * Comes with far more high quality 2D/3D cockpits and models for other (non-F16) aircraft then any other F4 version
    * Best modeling of the HARM HTS
    * Harder on your PC then AF but better then OF
    * Fully functional Carrier Ops, which is very cool
    * Better Campaign and Mission Builder then OF but not as good as AF (IMO)
    * Great graphics, arguably the best graphics of all F4 versions (by far best lights/lighting). Best special effects.
    * Unstable multiplayer in its current state (for the majority of users). Same issues for MP as FF4/RV. Hardest to configure for a MP flight (no Rapace Launcher).
    * FreeFalcon dev team is still together and making improvements. Patch/Hot Fix is being worked on to try and fix the bugs. And support is available by devs at the Free Falcon forum

    FF4/RV

    * FF5 lite. More stable then FF4 atm, but with a lot less cockpits, features, and special effects. Also there's not much support since FF5 is the focus of development.

    Dead/RIP

    * SAAFOPS
    * The Free Falcon/Red Viper joint dev team (they split into 2 separate groups)
    * The original OF dev team
